Based on the character created in 1977 by John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra for the British comic book 2000 AD, Pete Travis's Dredd is a thoroughly entertaining, decidedly violent dystopian sci-fi action thriller, featuring gaudily eye-catching visuals and a number of memorable set-pieces.
